“Northern Limit Line” First Movie to Hit 4 Million Ticket Sales in 2015
The movie “Northern Limit Line” hit four million ticket sales on July 11, making it the first Korean movie in 2015 to do so. “Northern Limit Line” is based on the true story of those who fought with their lives on the line to protect South Korea and their colleagues, lovers and families, while the rest of the country was engrossed in the Korean success of the 2002 World Cup.
“Northern Limit Line” achieved this record 18 days after its opening, after already having broken the 2015 Korean record for the most number of tickets sold.
The lead actors Jin Goo and Lee Hyun Woo wrote heartfelt handwritten messages. Jin Goo wrote, “Thank you. I will not forget,” and Lee Hyun Woo wrote, “We surpassed four million! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you to these in the forces, who are working hard to protect Korea even at this moment. I will always remember.”
