Girls' Generation's Yuri Says Being a Celebrity Doesn't Fit Her Personality

Yuri, a member of Girls’ Generation, confessed her inner turmoils to Choi Kang Hee on “MAPS.”

On this episode, Choi Kang Hee says, “I am known for being introverted, but when I was scared, I wanted to be closer to [Yuri],” explaining that she has gotten very close to the Girls’ Generation member. Yuri also responds, “I was also scared, but when you took my arm, I felt so warm inside. I was glad to know that someone else was feeling the same thing as me.”

When Choi Kang Hee and Yuri returned to their hotel, Yuri starts crying because she felt that she wasn’t very helpful with navigating or driving. When asked whether she cries often, Yuri says, “I don’t cry often. Even when Girls’ Generation won a grand prize and everyone else was crying, I didn’t cry,” tearing up again.

Choi Kang Hee soothes her by saying, “It just means that you are still innocent.” Yuri confesses, “I think I have been too busy, and that was hard. I don’t think my personality and being a celebrity go well together.” Choi Kang Hee advises Yuri, saying, “I was like that for 20 years. There’s always a time like that, when you’re not sure who you are. I used to tend to avoid difficult situations, but I recently changed. Even if something is embarrassing or odd, there’s some fun in overcoming challenges.”
