Uhm Jung Hwa and Uhm Tae Woong Leave Shim Entertainment

Star siblings Uhm Jung Hwa and Uhm Tae Woong have left their long-time management agency, Shim Entertainment. According to a news report, the two actors terminated their contract with Shim Entertainment on July 31, but left on good terms.

In a statement, Shim Entertainment said, “After 11 years in the entertainment business with us, Uhm Jung Hwa and Uhm Tae Woong have chosen a beautiful farewell following a long negotiation on our future together. Although we are no longer managing their careers, we promised to support each other in our future endeavors and will continue to cheer for each other. We will continue to support these two people in the future.”

Over the years, Uhm Jung Hwa has made a name as a top actress in Korea, with films like “Princess Aurora,” “Insadong Scandal,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Montage” under her belt. She is set to prove her box office power once again when her most recent film, “Miss Wife,” co-starring Song Seung Hun opens in theaters on August 13.

Uhm Jung Hwa’s younger brother, Uhm Tae Woong, also established himself through dramas “Resurrection,” “Devil,” “Queen Seon Deok” and “The Equator Man.” Likewise, he has made big screen appearances in “Never Ending Story,” “Cyrano Dating Agency” and “Introduction to Architecture,” among other films.

With the siblings currently free agents, reports surfaced that they are in negotiation with Mystic Entertainment for an exclusive contract. However, Mystic Entertainment denied this in a report on August 7, saying, “There was never a meeting. There are no basis to these reports.”
