Kim Jong Kook and Lee Kwang Soo Clear Up Reports of Staggering Appearance Fees in Official Statements
“Running Man” stars Kim Jong Kook and Lee Kwang Soo recently released official statements clearing up reports about their staggering TV appearance fees.
Prior to these official statements, a CEO of a Chinese Entertainment agency revealed that “Kim Jong Kook’s appearance fee for one episode is a staggering 1.5 billion won (approx. $1.3 million USD). Lee Kwang Soo also receives billions to appear on commercials.”
An affiliate of Kim Jong Kook’s agency stated, “I think his appearance fee has been significantly exaggerated. 1.5 billion won (approx. 1.3 million USD) is the amount you would get if you added up all the money earned by stars who appear on the Chinese ‘Running Man’ show.”
He continued, “It is true that his appearance fee is in the million won (approx. $85,000 USD) range, but the rumors saying he received billions isn’t true. [That much money] would only be made if he appeared in about 10-20 episodes in one season.”
Lee Kwang Soo’s side also responded, “[Lee Kwang Soo] has never received more than 400 million won (approx. $340,000 USD) per appearance. It’s also not true that he received billions for commercials. [The amount] has been blown up.”
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook and Lee Kwang Soo have risen as hallyu stars through popular SBS show “Running Man” and are extremely popular in China.
What do you think could’ve started these rumors?
