How Much Does Kim Tae Hee and Joo Won Make Per Episode of

With ratings hitting over 16 percent for its fourth episode, interest in the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Yong Pal,” starring Joo Won and Kim Tae Hee, grows.

With its unusual storyline that has its lead actress is a coma for much of the beginning act, the drama drew the curiosity of the local media which wondered how much Kim Tae Hee, playing the role of Han Yeo Jin, was being paid per episode.

One industry inside told local news media Ilgan Sports that Kim Tae Hee was being paid around 40 million won (around 34,000 USD) per episode. The source said, “Kim Tae Hee is being paid at the proper rate. Just because she has fewer scenes doesn’t mean she gets paid less.” The source also said, “Her rate is top level for actresses coming out on a drama on one of the three major TV networks. Her rate is not that different from the lead male actor, Joo Won.”

Kim Tae Hee’s per-episode-fee is not unusual for an actor of her star level and since we don’t know yet how much the drama will end up making, her slice of the revenue might be large or small. So the point of discussion might be- do you think an actor show get paid by the number of scenes they are in?
