Kim Kibum of Super Junior Says Thank You and Goodbye to SM Entertainment

Kim Kibum, originally a member of Super Junior, made an unexpected announcement less than an hour ago on his Instagram account. He uploaded a picture of himself and captioned it, “2015 august 18th. Finished with S.M. ent. Lets begin my new life…!! 그동안 함께했던 SM 감사합니다.” The Korean translates to “For the time we were together, SM, thank you.”

Kim Kibum was originally a member of the SM Entertainment boy group Super Junior, but has not promoted with the band for six years. He has instead pursued an acting career in China and Korea, being on an indefinite hiatus from the idol group.

Back in July, member Eunhyuk had said on a variety show that Super Junior would welcome back Kim Kibum anytime, but now it seems Kim Kibum’s return is unlikely with this announcement.

There has been no official statement from SM Entertainment. We will keep you updated.
