“Unpretty Rapstar 2” Reps Confirm Elimination System, but Tight-Lipped About Jiyoon and Kim’s Inclusion
On September 10, representatives from Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar 2” have revealed that “‘Unpretty Rapstar 2’ will be having a system of elimination. The details can be confirmed through the actual airing of the show.”
“Unpretty Rapstar 2” is a survival program in which female rappers compete to be a part of a compilation album. Season two will star 11 rappers: Heize, Kasper, Ash-B, SISTAR‘s Hyorin, Gilme, Ahn Soo Min, Fiestar‘s Yezi, KittiB, Moon Suah, Wonder Girls‘ Yubin, and Truedy.
In the first season of “Unpretty Rapstar,” only one rapper was permanently eliminated from the show (Lil Cham) and no one replaced her, but now it seems that with this new “system of elimination,” viewers may be seeing one or more of the 11 rappers be eliminated and replaced.
Previously, there were reports that 4Minute‘s Jiyoon would be one of the new rappers joining the show because of the new elimination system. “Unpretty Rapstar” reps responded ambiguously and/or confirmed that Jiyoon would not be joining. However, on September 10, representatives once again spoke up about Jiyoon’s, as well as Rubber Soul‘s Kim‘s participation with the statement, “We are not sure if Jiyoon or Kim will be joining the program. We are still in the process of confirming all of our female rappers.”
