Tao Cast as Lead in New Jackie Chan Film

Tao who is currently caught up in a legal battle for his solo activity in China is reportedly starring in Jackie Chan’s new film “Railway Asylum” (working title).

According to Chinese entertainment media outlets, Tao has been cast as the lead in the new movie “Railway Asylum” which is about China’s anti-Japanese war efforts. It is scheduled to start filming on October 16.

The film is set in the early 1940s and is about the story of Chinese railroad workers who are resistant to Japanese aggression. Jackie Chan and Tao will star in the movie as members of railroad guerrilla fighters.

“Railway Asylum” will be produced by China’s Shanghai Film Group Corporation and directed by Ding Sheng. It will be filmed in Shandong and is scheduled to release in October 2017.

Tao is currently facing a legal battle with his original agency SM Entertainment ever since he declared solo activity in China. Last January, he starred in “You Are My Sunshine” making his presence known to his fans in China.

Meanwhile, EXO’s Lay was cast to star alongside Jackie Chan in another Chinese film titled “Kung Fu Yoga.”
