VIXX Shares Thoughts on Wrapping Up Domestic “Chained Up” Promotions
VIXX has recently wrapped up their three-week domestic promotion period for their latest comeback. “Chained Up” is their second full-length album and the six-member boy group took home three first-place trophies on music programs with the title track of the same name.
“Rather than achieve something huge, I think we prepared the way for greater footholds in the future,” leader N said on the end of their short promotional period. “During our hiatus, I felt anxious and worried that if we didn’t do well in this comeback, people would no longer anticipate things from us. Fortunately, I think we were able to become singers to be anticipated. I was surprised and touched to see my members work so hard onstage.”
The idol group has kept busy during their hiatus, with fellow member Ken taking part in the musicals “Chess” and “Cinderella,” while N appeared in the drama “Sassy Go Go.” “This was the busiest year of my life,” he said. “When I was filming my drama, the members sent me many dance practice videos. They had to dance dozens of times just to make one video and I was really touched. I felt that that much hard work would translate to better performances onstage.”
VIXX is known for their unique and often fantastical concepts. “During this comeback, we performed with the ambition of a rookie group,” N concluded. “It’s good to become experienced, but sometimes I thought that we had lost a little energy. I regretted that our promotions ended so quickly but we will show an upgraded performance at the end-of-the-year shows.”
Ken added, “Personally, I really like the song ‘Chained Up,’ so I regretted the short promotions period even more. We wanted to show our fans our gratitude through getting No.1.”
VIXX will be holding two showcases titled “2015 VIXX Live Showcase Chained Up” in Beijing and Shanghai on December 8 and 13 respectively. They will also be taking part in end-of-the-year shows, including KBS’ year-end song festival.
