Super Junior’s Yesung Talks About His Experiences With Pet Dogs and Tortoises on “Hello Counselor”
Super Junior’s Yesung shares stories about his pets on the latest episode of KBS‘s “Hello Counselor”!
During the opening of the show, when Yesung is asked what he’s currently worried about, he replies, “I have two dogs. But they don’t like me.”
He explains, “They’ve never come when I called them, not even once in five years. They go to my parents or my brother when they call them, though. I want to be closer friends with my dogs.”
“You should send your story to ‘Animal Farm’!” jokes Shin Dong Yup, who is also a host on that show.
Later on, one of the stories the hosts read out was written by a man who’s plagued by his wife’s 20 pet birds. On the topic of unique pets, Yesung says, “I used to have this one tortoise as a pet, but he just made me more lonely.”
One of the hosts jokes that tortoises don’t talk, so they wouldn’t help him with his loneliness. Yesung agrees that that was a reason, but also adds, “If I went up to him, he’d just hide in his shell.”
“So I got a different kind of tortoise, and then another one,” he says. “Eventually the first one got so big that it was peeing and pooing more than me every day, and so I donated it to an aquarium.”
Yesung goes on to say, “But then last Christmas, I went to see him. And that tortoise that used to always hide from me, he came up to me! And he looked like he was crying!”
Everyone laughs, but Yesung insists he’s completely serious!
Yesung donated his tortoise Ddangkkoma to the COEX Aquarium in Seoul in 2011. On December 24, 2015, he shared a photo on his Instagram of his beloved friend from his visit.
You can see more of Yesung on January 11’s episode of “Hello Counselor,” which also features guests Park Si Hwan and Dal Shabet‘s Ahyoung and Subin.
