SM Entertainment has released a video of their “SMTown: New Culture Technology 2016” presentation in which they outline their future goals and showcase their new group. There are English subs available.

SM Entertainment‘s founder, Lee Soo Man, took to the stage today at the “SMTown: New Culture Technology 2016,” held at SM’s Coex Artium, to layout the agency’s vision in its culture contents business.

Among many thing discussed, Lee Soo Man announced plans for SM Entertainment’s highly anticipated new boy group. He said, “Under the brand of ‘NCT (Neo Culture Technology)’ different teams will debut based in different countries around the world.” There will be various collaborations and units formed between the different groups, allowing for movement of members and new recruits into the groups. There also won’t be a set member number for these groups.  The first unit is expected to debut in the spring and be active in Seoul and Japan in the first half of the year. In the second half, another team will debut, active in China.  Other groups are expected to debut to target the South East Asia region and Latin America. These various group will take one song and sing it in different languages.

Along with the announcement, 40 members expected to be part of NCT appeared on stage in masks to perform, hiding their identity but said to have left a mark on the audience just with their stage presence.
