Lee Jong Suk Donates to UNICEF to Help Disadvantaged Children

Actor Lee Jong Suk has donated 200 million won (approximately $165,800) to help disadvantaged children both domestically and internationally.

He donated the money on February 8 to the Korean Committee for UNICEF, which is a UN affiliated organization that provides aid to children. It helps underprivileged children all over the world.

Lee Jong Suk explains, “I wanted to return a small portion of the huge amount of love I have received from the fans. Moving forward, I won’t forget the warm feelings that come with working with children going through hardships.”

All of the money that Lee Jong Suk has donated will be used to help children. For now, 100 million won (approximately $82,900) will be used to make happier households for the children of migrant workers and overseas Koreans.  

The other 100 million won (approximately $82,900) is being sent to the Chinese UNICEF office. It is planned on being used to help improve the poor schooling conditions in the mountainous regions of China. 

Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk will star in a new Korean-Chinese co-produced drama, “Jade Lover” (working title).
