BEAST’s Yoon Doo Joon and VIXX’s Leo Face Off in Futsal Match

On the February 10 broadcast of MBC’s Lunar New Year special “2016 Idol Star Athletics Championships,” the final men’s futsal matches took place. Futsal is a modified form of soccer played with five players per side.

In the semifinal game, BEAST’s Yoon Doo Joon’s team (called Goal Leaguer) went up against ZE:A’s Dong Jun’s team, Real Ma-Dribble (a play on Real Madrid). In the first half, Boys’ Republic member Wonjun scored for Goal Leaguer, only to be brought up short by a goal from Real Ma-Dribble. Yoon Doo Joon then accidentally scored in his own net while trying to defend, but his team quickly brought the score again to a tie. In the last three seconds, BEAST’s Yang Yoseob scored the winning goal.

In the finals, Goal Leaguer went up against FC Cheongdam. The MCs drew attention to the matchup between Yoon Doo Joon and VIXX’s Leo, both of whom trained as soccer players before switching careers to music.

Goal Leaguer had the advantage of the BEAST trio (Lee Gikwang, Yang Yoseob, and Yoon Doojoon), but the first goal was scored by FC Cheongdam’s Seungyeob, through Leo’s assist. Later, due to an error by Lee Gikwang, Seungyeob scored again.

Lee Gikwang quickly made up for his mistake by scoring through a corner kick, but FC Cheongdam followed it up just as quickly with a goal of their own. At the end of the first half, FC Cheongdam was up 3 to 1.

As the second half opened, Goal Leaguer’s Yoondong scored, followed by another goal from FC Cheongdam. Yoon Doojoon scored a goal to bring the score to 4:3 but in the end FC Cheongdam’s Jeongha scored a final goal and Leo’s team won the match.
