"Produce 101" Further Eliminates Contestants Ahead of Final Episode

Mnet’s “Produce 101” featured an intense concept battle between five teams on their latest episode which aired on March 18.

The Girls on Top team (Kim Doyeon, Yoo Yeonjung, Kim Sohye, Kang Sira, Yoon Chaekyung, Kim Sohee, and Han Hyeri) won with “In the Same Place” which was written by B1A4′s Jinyoung. The winning team will receive the advantage of having 150,000 extra points.

On March 19, it was revealed that further eliminations will take place. Voting ended at 11 a.m. and the remaining 35 contestants will be reduced to 22 trainees.

Previously, “Produce 101” stated that they plan to have 17 contestants for the semi-finals. However, the show has changed this number to 22 trainees after discussions.

The remaining 22 contestants will have a chance to compete and become one of the final 11 members. With a 50/50 chance of gaining a coveted spot on the final team, the stakes are high. The final episode of “Produce 101” is scheduled to air on April 1.
