Akdong Musician Tops Music Charts With New Album and Confirms "Weekly Idol" Appearance
Brother-sister duo Akdong Musician released their long-awaited album – “Spring Vol. 1” – last night (May 4, 0:00 a.m. KST) and topped eight music charts soon after its release. It topped Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Genie, Naver Music, Bugs, Soribad, and Monkey3 Music with the new album title track “Re-bye.” The five other tracks on the album also charted within the top 10.
Lee Chan Hyuk left a message on his Instagram account to thank fans and everyone who helped on the album after he saw that the album was doing very well on the charts. Despite his name being the one credited for the musical and lyrical composition for all the songs, Lee Chan Hyuk wanted to make sure to express his love and thanks to the staff who worked so hard on the album.
In addition to the good news, it has also been confirmed that Akdong Musician will be appearing on the MBC Every1 variety show “Weekly Idol.” While they have not filmed the episode yet, their guest appearance is expected to air this month.
