Yang Hyun Suk Meets With MV Directors; Is YG Finally Ready To Debut New Girl Group?

YG Entertainments respond to reports that it is about to debut a girl group soon.

Earlier, there were reports that according to industry insiders, YG Entertainment has officially started preparations to debut a new girl group. YG’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, was reportedly meeting music video directors who have previously worked with YG, inquiring about filming a music video for a new girl group.

YG Entertainment responded, “It is true that Yang Hyun Suk met with music video directors, but we can’t confirm if it was for a new girl group.” It also stated that girl group trainees have been continuously recording, but “there are no decisions yet on the timeline for debut.”

Previously in 2015, Yang Hyun Suk had stated, “Because the new YG girl group has been preparing for so long, I am in discussions with the producer. I want their debut album to come out early next year (2016). Although they are young, they are ripe with skills. Their debut album is a personal greed.”

There have been rumors about a new YG girl group since 2012, and the agency has even revealed some possible members. One candidate is Kim Jisoo, who recently appeared in the KBS drama “Producer.”

Moon Suah (Sua) is also a possible candidate; she recently appeared in the Mnet rapper survival show “Unpretty Rapstar.”
