Just How Popular Is Sandara Park In The Philippines?

Girl group 2NE1 member Sandara Park was able to receive a warm homecoming when she visited the Philippines!

On the upcoming episode of the KBS 2TV variety show “Battle Trip,” Sandara embarks on a trip to her second home, the Philippines. She lived there for over ten years and thus, is able to introduce new sights in the country that viewers in Korea may not have been familiar with.

She also shows off a different determination to her trip as she changes clothes twelve times over the course of one day.

Moreover, her immense popularity in the country is displayed as she is greeted enthusiastically wherever she went. It is to the point that model Kang Seung Hyun who went with her exclaimed that, “I thought ‘Sandara’ was the Filipino word for greeting someone!” due to the many people who shouted out her name whenever they saw her.

Once word travels that she is in the country, some of the Philippines’ biggest stars even gather in one place in order to meet her.

As they witness this, the MCs of the show ask, “Is Sandara Park’s popularity similar to Lee Hwi Jae’s?” to which Sandara jokingly answers, “People recognize me as much as Yoo Jae Suk is in Korea.”

“Battle Trip” will air on September 10 at 10 p.m. KST.
