Uhm Tae Woong Facing Solicitation Charges Instead Of Sexual Assault

The police have confirmed today that Uhm Tae Woong is facing solicitation charges instead of the sexual assault charges he originally faced when the story first broke out in August.

The Seongnam Bundang Police submitted to the prosecution their investigation results that put Uhm Tae Woong under suspicion for solicitation. The police concluded that there was no suspicion of the sexual assault that he was originally accused of by female “A,” a massage parlor employee. Instead, during their investigation of the sexual assault, the police found evidence that “A” partnered with the massage parlor owner “B” to blackmail Uhm Tae Woong, asking him for compensation for his “sexual assault” against her. “A” was trying to gather money to settle with her own accusers – she had been charged with fraud in another case at that time.

While questioning “B,” the police procured evidence that Uhm Tae Woong visited and paid money to the massage parlor, known to offer sexual services, this past January.

As for “A,” she is facing charges of false accusation, blackmail, and prostitution. “B” is facing charges for attempted blackmail.

The prosecution will now investigate Uhm Tae Woong for charges of solicitation instead of sexual assault.
