Girls' Generation's Yuri Cast As Lead In Upcoming SBS Drama

Girls’ Generation member Yuri has been confirmed to lead in SBS’s upcoming drama “Defendant.”

“Defendant” will air on Monday and Tuesday, after “Romantic Doctor Kim” ends its run in January 2017. Yuri will star in the drama as Seo Eun Hye, a public defender. She tries very hard to be a graceful and eloquent lawyer, but when she actually gets in front of a judge, she can’t keep her temper from flaring.

Previously, the role was associated with Han Ye Seul, but she recently declined.

Actor Ji Sung may be joining Yuri in this drama. If he does, he will play the role of Park Jung Woo, a public prosecutor turned death-row convict.

Actor Uhm Ki Joon and Uhm Hyun Kyung are looking over roles for the drama, while Kim Min Suk and Oh Chang Suk have confirmed.

The drama is helmed by Jo Young Kwang (“49 Days”) and penned bye Choi Soo Jin (“City Hunter“) and Choi Chang Hwan.
