"Descendants of the Sun" Wins Best Drama At The 21st Asian Television Awards

Congratulations to “Descendants of the Sun” for winning Best Drama at the 21st Asian Television Awards!

In its 21st year, the Asian Television Awards recognizes excellence in television programming, production and performance since its launch in 1996. With over 1300 entries spread over 40 categories, the Awards highlights quality Asian television production.

This year for the prestigious Best Drama category, two Korean dramas were nominated: KBS’s “Descendants of the Sun” (starring Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo) and MBC’s “Marriage Contract” (starring Uee and Lee Seo Jin). Other Asian dramas nominated were Singapore’s Bingit 3,” “Halfworld,” The Dream Makers 2,” “The Hush,” “The Journery: Our Homeland,” and Japan’s “Downtown Rocket.” Rising above its tough competition, “Descendants of the Sun” ultimately took home the prize, being named the Best Drama at the 21st Asian Television Award.
