tvN’s “Goblin” is on a last-minute spurt as it nears the end, surpassing 15 percent in viewership ratings.

According to statistics released by Nielsen Korea, the episode of tvN’s Friday-Saturday drama “Goblin,” that aired on January 13 scored nationwide ratings of 14.25 percent (cable platform standard).

This is the first time “Goblin” has been able to jump over the 14 percent margin with just cable platform numbers. Breaking a new record, the drama scored 15.55 percent in ratings when adding in subscription platform statistics.

Currently guarding the throne for highest viewership ratings for a cable TV show is last year’s tvN drama “Reply 1988” with 18.80 percent. Considering the limits that cable channel programs face, which is the case for both dramas, the popularity of “Goblin” makes it feel more like the drama has ratings up in the 30 percent range.

“Goblin” still has three episodes left, and it will be interesting to see how ratings will change with the special episode on January 14, the 14th episode on January 20, and the 15th and 16th episode airing on January 21.
