Lee Si Young Braves The Wild And Puts Her Skin To The Test In New Beauty Campaign
It’s a jungle out there for our modern lives, exposing our skin everyday to pollution, harsh UV rays, and stress. Modern humans not only trek arid, high-altitude mountain trails but also the busy city streets. Our skin is meant to protect us through it all, but can it really withstand the harshest of conditions we put it through?
Actress Lee Si Young joined beauty brand SK-II in partnership with National Geographic in an innovative new campaign that really puts the human skin to the test, titled “Face the Wild, Face the Camera.” The campaign challenged Lee Si Young and three other beauty icons from all over the world – Japanese actress Kasumi Arimura, Italian entrepreneur and fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni, and Chinese actress Nini – to explore some of the world’s most extreme, albeit stunning, locations to see if their skin could survive the harshest of conditions and be ready for the picture-perfect photo shoot.
Their adventures are captured in a series of vignettes, with one featuring Lee Si Young trekking through Indonesia’s active Ijen Volcano, one of the most dangerous places on earth. She must brave the hot, sulfurous, and dusty environment to reach the most picturesque spot, and with the refreshment of SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence on her skin, be ready for the picture-perfect photo.
The series also features Kasumi Arimura exploring the hot and humid Yanbaru Jungle in Okinawa, Japan, Nini journeying through the frigid mountains of Northern China, and Chiara Ferragni hiking the scorching Anza-Borrego desert in southern California.
At the end of their journeys, all of these ladies come out looking radiant as ever, with the help of SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence, refreshed and glowing despite the extreme conditions they just went through.
