Weekly Box Office Report (July 1st ~ 3rd)

A mysterious explosion occurs at the Balam Bridge in Seoul on November 20th, 1994. In front of hot-blooded local news reporter Lee Bang-Woo (Hwang Jung-Min), Yoon-Hyuk (Jin Goo) appears. Yoon-Hyuk is from the same hometown as Lee Bang-Woo, but they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Yoon-Hyuk hands over documents to Lee Bang-Woo and hints that the case of the Balam Bridge was fabricated. In order to uncover the truth behind the case, Lee Bang-Woo teams up with fellow reporters Son Jin-Ki ( Kim Sang-Ho ) and Sung Hyo-Kwan ( Kim Min-Hee ).

I Am a Singer: Ock Joo Hyun Performed “U Go Girl”

Before Ock Joo Hyun was criticized for appearing on Survival: I Am a Singer, however now she is gaining a lot of popularity and interest. Recently she chose to take up the challenge of reinterpreting her former band mate Lee Hyori’s “U Go Girl.”

On July 4th, the contestants/singers on the show got together for the preliminary rounds, the mission was for each singer to choose a song that they wanted to challenge themselves with.

On yesterday’s episode of MBC’s “Miss Ripley,” Song Yoo Hyun (Park Yoo Chun) started preparing for his engagement with Jang Mi Ri (Lee Da Hae). Song Yoo Hyun stood firm once again on his decision to marry Jang Mi Ri due to the disapproval of Lee Hwa (Choi Myung Gil), his mother. He visited the wedding dress shop with Jang Mi Ri in order to have his engagement as soon as possible.

Profanity on KBS "One Night Two Days"?

Currently KBS’ popular show “1 Night 2 Days” is under fire for a swearing/profanity controversy. For the episode that was broadcast on June 3rd, Kang Hodong, Lee Seung Ki, Uhm Tae Woong, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, and Kim Jong Min were playing games in order to gain a watermelon. They were playing different games when a Korean profanity was heard. (It is unknown whether it was one of the members, or somebody from the staff. The viewers of the show heard the profanity and are currently bringing this up as controversy.
