"The President" Leads Prime Time Ratings for Seventh Week

The SBS political drama “The President” (“Daemul”) has led the Wednesday and Thursday prime time ratings in Korea for seven straight weeks.  According to data released by Total National Multimedia Statistics and AGB Nielsen Media Research, the average viewership rating for “The President” is 24.6 percent and 25.6 percent.  These numbers are almost identical to the ones posted last week, indicating that this drama is still capturing the interest of its audience.

 
“The President” illustrates the ascent of a former anchorwoman who enters the world of politics and becomes the first female president of Korea.  Go Hyun Jung, Cha In Pyo, and Kwon Sang Woo play the leads.

 
In second place was the KBS2 drama “Fugitive: Plan B”, starring Rain, with a score of 13.1 percent and 12.4, according to TNMS and AGB.  The action drama, which stars Rain as a detective, features a journey throughout Asia and an ethnically diverse cast.

 
In third place was the MBC drama, “Home Sweet Home”, with a score of 5.4 percent and 8.3 percent, according to TNMS and AGB.  The mystery drama centers around the conflict between a long-married couple and a woman who may have killed her husband.  The Thursday episode was postponed to next week due to the airing of the 2010 Korea Film Awards.
