YG Takes Home Another Award - 2NE1 Crowned "Best New Band"

After six gruelling weeks, the wait is finally over. Just a few moments ago, the winner of MTV Iggy’s “Best New Band” award was announced. The prize went to none other than K-Pop’s queens, 2NE1!

After countless hours of promotion and voting, Blackjacks and K-Pop fans can rest their over-worked fingers and relish in the delight of the ladies of YG being crowned, the “Best New Band in the World” — a title well deserved for this young and talented group. The competition was tough as the quartet went up against nine other talented nominees, only to come out on top.  A whopping 168 countries participated in the competition, voting for their favorite world act. 2NE1 just continues to prove over and over again that they truly are the best. Soon, their sights will be set on the international stage. Is this a sign that the world is ready for the “New Evolution of the 21^st Century”?

It seems they just might well be.  The winner of this coveted prize will also have the opportunity to host a concert in Times Square! New York, get ready to be rocked by the stellar sound that is 2NE1. The concert is scheduled for December 12.

MTV Iggy had nothing but praise about the amazing acts that all were chosen and the competition itself.  Here is what they wrote: “Our straightforward goal, from the outset, was to discover and share mind-blowing new music. To that end, we congratulate and thank all our finalists — you are the best of global pop music. Over the past six weeks, America voted for all of you in massive numbers. It’s been our pleasure to introduce you to new audiences, and now we can say with confidence — America is ready.”

Congratulations ladies! You have done your fans and your country proud! You most certainly deserve this honor.  May this be the first of many worldwide awards to come. Blackjacks, your effort paid off. This is another amazing win for YG Entertainment, 2NE1, Blackjacks, YG Family fans, and K-Pop fans all over the globe, as the worldwide impact of K-Pop is shown on a global level once again.
