Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, Park Na Rae, Girl’s Day’s Minah And More Join 2018 Ice Bucket Challenge

With the hot summer days approaching, celebrities have once again begun the Ice Bucket Challenge!

The 2018 Ice Bucket Challenge set off on May 29 with Sean, who has consistently been supporting ALS patients. Since then, celebrities including Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, Park Bo Gum, and Yeo Jin Goo have taken part in the challenge.

Whoever takes up the challenge can choose others to do the same, which is why an increasing number of celebrities are joining in. On June 1, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun posted a video of her participation on her Instagram. “Hi, this is Seohyun. I’m joining in the 2018 Ice Bucket Challenge as Sooyoung’s pick,” she says. “I think it’s very meaningful and I’m happy to participate in this good cause. I hope more people could show interest and give support to those suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease.”

After being dumped with the icy water, Seohyun chose actor Kim Jung Hyun, Hwang Seung Eon, and her fellow member Hyoyeon. Seohyun, Kim Jung Hyun, and Hwang Seung Eon were recently confirmed to appear in MBC’s upcoming drama “Time.”

Girl’s Day’s Minah also posted a video of her Ice Bucket Challenge on Instagram after Yeo Jin Goo chose her. “This challenge is for the establishment of a nursing hospital for ALS patients,” she wrote. “I’m glad to participate in this meaningful challenge and I hope more people would take interest and acknowledge this.”

Minah challenged actor Lee Kyu Hyung, musical actor Kim Ho Young, and WANNA.B’s Lina, who is also Minah’s sister.

Comedian Park Na Rae, actor Min Jin Woong, and Lee Shi Un joined the challenge as well. Park Na Rae first thanked Daniel Henney who had picked her and asked for the public’s support for ALS patients. She chose fellow female comedians Kim Ji Min, Jang Do Yeon, and model Han Hye Jin as the next challengers.

Min Jin Woong and Lee Shi Un were each named by actor Lee Joon Hyuk and Daniel Henney. After finishing his challenge, Min Jin Woong picked actor Kim Ki Bang, actress Jung Da Bin, and EXO’s Chanyeol. Lee Shi Un also chose actor Park Sung Hyun, Jun Hyun Moo, and EXO’s Suho as the next challengers.

The Ice Bucket Challenge first began in 2014 in the United States to raise awareness about Lou Gehrig’s disease and show support for the patients. As the challenge went viral on social media, it spread across the world with huge success.
