Hyun Bin Talks About His Desire To Try New Kinds Of Projects
In a recent interview, Hyun Bin talked about what kind of projects he would like to do in the future.
Hyun Bin has appeared in movies and dramas of various genres, including “My Name Is Kim Sam Soon,” “Secret Garden,” “The Swindlers,” and “The Negotiation.” His newest movie “Rampant” is just a few days away from its premiere as well.
The actor said, “I have been in many productions this year, and some viewers will think ‘You’re in this too?’, but I’m happy to do something that I can show you naturally and you can enjoy watching.”
He also revealed how he chooses his next projects. He said, “[It’s something] I want to do by my standards, and I look for an entertaining story. Then I wonder if I am capable of expressing the character through this process. I keep searching for different and new things while thinking it’d be nice if I could do something else.”
Hyun Bin elaborated by mentioning the new things he wants to try now. He shared, “Lately, I want to do a melodrama. Korean movies seem to be losing this genre these days. It’s unfortunate. Whether it’s a movie or a drama, I think it would be fun to do a realistic melodrama. On the other hand, I also want to try a stronger action project. I want to do everything I’ve never done before.”
When asked if he wants to take a break, he admitted, “I’ve been [thinking about it] a little lately. For a while, I worked every day and somehow went into a series of projects, but I have been working for about two months without a break now.”
Hyun Bin’s upcoming movie “Rampant” revolves around zombies that have near overrun Joseon. Prince Lee Cheong (Hyun Bin) returns to Joseon from imprisonment and takes up the battle against the zombies. Meanwhile, Kim Ja Joon (Jang Dong Gun) sets forth his final plan to bring an end to the world as they know it.
“Rampant” premieres on October 25. Watch the trailer here.
