Lee Seo Jin Shares How His New Film Affected His Thoughts On Marriage

Lee Seo Jin recently sat down for an interview to talk about his new film, “Intimate Strangers.”

“Intimate Strangers” is a remake of the 2016 Italian film “Perfect Strangers,” starring Yoo Hae JinJo Jin WoongYum Jung AhYoon Kyung HoKim Ji Soo, and Song Ha Yoon. It tells the story of a group of friends playing a game where they must share all incoming messages and calls on their cell phones. However, uncomfortable truths quickly come to light and turn the game into something less than playful.

Previously, Lee Seo Jin had talked about the kind of characters he wanted to play in the future and returning to the big screen for the first time in 13 years. To this he added, “To be honest, I don’t like romantic characters. I’ve been offered that role many times, but I’m not a very affectionate or sentimental person by nature. Those characters are a bit boring for me. I didn’t pick this movie in order to transform my acting, but it’s good to take advantage of new opportunities.”

Lee Seo Jin also shared how his personal feelings were affected by the movie, which is about the secrets that can lie between the closest of friends – including spouses. “It was fun at first, and then turned kind of bleak,” he said. “Shooting the movie put me off marriage even more than before. Moreover, I’m way past the optimal age for marriage now, I don’t have the stamina. The more I focus on work, the less energy I have for love. I don’t really want to break up my lifestyle habits now, either. I’m not saying I’ll be a bachelor forever, but I don’t feel a huge desire for marriage.”

“Intimate Strangers” premieres in South Korea on October 31.
