TWICE Shares Goals For 2019 And Sana Expresses Hope To See ITZY's Chaeryeong On Stage

TWICE reflected on 2018 and revealed their goals for the new year.

On January 24, media outlet Sports Seoul released its interview with TWICE from backstage of the 28th Seoul Music Awards.

Last year, the girl group topped online charts and music shows with successful releases, including the fifth mini album “What is Love?” special second album “Summer Nights,” sixth mini album “Yes or Yes,” and special third album “The Year of Yes.”

Dahyun began, “We released a total of four albums last year, and I was so happy that we made good memories with our fans. We also celebrated our third debut anniversary. I ate delicious food with the members, and Jeongyeon gifted necklaces to the members. It was a joyful year.”

TWICE is one of Korea’s top girl groups that receives love from fans all over the world. “Yes or Yes” was the first Korean album to simultaneously top Japan’s Oricon weekly album and digital album charts. The girl group will also embark on a dome tour spanning across three cities and five concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. This makes TWICE the fastest K-pop girl group and foreign artist to embark on a dome tour after their debut.

About being described as Korea’s representative girl group, Jihyo said, “Rather than that, I’m grateful that the fans and public love our bright, energetic performances. TWICE will show various appearances and styles in the future and work hard to show more energetic appearances.”

JYP Entertainment recently revealed photos and teasers for its newest girl group ITZY. Speaking about ITZY member Chaeryeong, Sana stated, “TWICE debuted through Mnet’s ‘Sixteen,’ and a member who participated with us is included in this new girl group. I hope we can meet on the same stage.”

Sending a new year’s message to TWICE’S fans, Mina said, “I want to see ONCE [TWICE’s official fandom] a lot in 2019, and I hope that all ONCEs will have a healthy year.” Chaeyoung added, “TWICE will work hard to turn 2019 into a year where we can repay the love we received in 2018.”

Nayeon, who was born in the year of the pig, said with a laugh, “I’m a pig. Since TWICE has a member who was born in the year of the pig, I hope good things will occur this year.”
