FNC Denies Connection Between Lee Jong Hyun And Choi Jong Hoon To Recent Controversies
FNC Entertainment issued a statement regarding speculation that CNBLUE’s Lee Jong Hyun and FTISLAND’s Choi Jong Hoon are involved in recent controversies.
There has recently been much speculation over the identities of the people in group chatrooms (including Jung Joon Young, BIGBANG’s Seungri, other male singers, and non-celebrity acquaintances) in which sexual escort services were discussed, illegal hidden camera footage was shared, and there was discussion of criminal acts. Celebrities who are known as friends of Seungri or Jung Joon Young have been named in speculative articles.
On March 12, FNC Entertainment issued the following statement regarding speculations about Lee Jong Hyun and Choi Jong Hoon:
We clearly state that Lee Jong Hyun and Choi Jong Hoon, who are artists at our agency, have no relation to this incident. Their relationships with the controversial celebrities are only as acquaintances who were in contact with each other.
Choi Jong Hoon recently received a request for cooperation in the police’s investigation, and so he only attended as a reference. We wish to make clear that he was not being investigated nor considered a suspect. Choi Jong Hoon has already completed the police’s investigation, and the tentative conclusion is that he has no particular connection to allegations such as sexual services.
Also, Lee Jong Hyun and Jung Joon Young’s relationship is just that of two people who were in contact a long time ago, and he is not connected to this incident. We hope that you will refrain from unnecessary misunderstandings or speculative reports.
In addition, we will be be taking strong legal action against malicious rumors spreading online about our artists.
FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki also personally denied any relation to the controversy. Reporter Kang Kyung Yoon from SBS Fun E, who published the initial reports about the chatrooms, confirmed that Lee Hong Ki is not the “Singer Lee” mentioned in the reports, and stated that he is from another group.
