A famous Thai actor has been spotted on the streets of Seoul asking people to vote for his son on Mnet’s “Produce X 101.”

On June 14, it was reported that Chandelier Music trainee Peak’s dad was asking for people to vote for his son. A source told Sports Chosun, “He arrived in Korea on June 13 and campaigned for his son for four hours in Myeongdong. He’ll be in Hongdae today and the neighborhood of Sangam tomorrow.”

Peak’s father, Prab Yuttapichai, is a famous Thai actor who has appeared in many films and dramas after his debut in 1990. He has also hosted the show “Apology” (literal title) on the Thai public broadcasting network Channel7 which has actively participated in cultural exchanges with South Korea.

Peak’s mother, Tanyawan Puayheng, is a Thai model who made it to the final round of Miss Universe Thailand in 1992. Although she’s currently retired, her brief appearance on the fifth episode of “Produce X 101” gained lots of attention.

This isn’t Peak’s first appearance on a music survival show in Korea. The Thai contestant previously appeared on Mnet’s “I Can See Your Voice 6” in January and was introduced as the “Thai Justin Bieber” where he showcased his vocal talents. His parents were shown on camera and viewers cheered when they heard that Peak was also an actor.

Peak came in No. 51 on “Produce X 101” as of the latest rankings in episode 6. In his team evaluations, he has performed covers of Wanna One’s “Energetic” and “Turtle Ship” by Ja Mezz, Andup, and WINNER member Song Mino featuring Paloalto.

“Produce X 101” airs on Fridays at 11 p.m. KST. Vote for your favorite trainees in round two of Soompi’s international prediction polls here!
