Kim Junsu's Agency Clarifies Report About Being Charged A Fine For Taxes

Kim Junsu’s agency has refuted the report of him paying an additional fee after a tax audit.

On August 26, Etoday reported that the National Tax Service conducted an intensive tax investigation against Kim Junsu and charged him a fine of about 1 billion won (approximately $823,585) as a result. The reports said that he paid part of the fine, more than 400 million won (approximately $329,132), in early July.

Later on the same day, his label C-JeS Entertainment clarified the report with an official statement:

Kim Junsu has received a special tax audit but has yet to receive a notice for additional tax collection.
The payment of 400 million won that quoted in today’s exclusive Etoday article was for the previous year’s income tax, which has nothing to do with this survey of high-income earners.
Kim Junsu has faithfully cooperated with the investigation and will sincerely make additional payments if a fine is decided.
We will also take legal action including defamation charges against malicious rumors and comments caused by the unconfirmed report.

Recently, Kim Junsu was awarded a Hallyu Culture Daesang at the 2019 K-Expo for his achievements as both a singer and musical actor.
