3 Reasons To Look Forward To Kim Hye Yoon And SF9's Rowoon's New Drama "Extraordinary You"

MBC’s new drama “Extraordinary You” is gearing up for its premiere next week!

Based on a fantasy romance webtoon of the same name, “Extraordinary You” will tell the story of a female high school student named Eun Dan Oh (played by Kim Hye Yoon), who comes to the shocking realization that she is actually a character in a manhwa (Korean comic).

With only one week left until the drama’s premiere on October 2, here are three reasons to tune in to the unique romantic comedy:

1. A romantic love story in a high school setting

No one can resist a heart-fluttering high school romance, and “Extraordinary You” promises to deliver on that front: the upcoming drama features more than one butterflies-inducing love story. With a cast full of young rising stars, the drama will steal viewers’ hearts with not one, but two exciting love triangles—and a ton of chemistry between the six actors entangled in them.

2. Did someone say eye candy?

Since “Extraordinary You” is literally set inside a manhwa, it makes sense that the drama boasts an impressive lineup of handsome male actors. SF9’s Rowoon leads the cast as “No. 13,” a nameless extra who is initially so unimportant to the manhwa’s plot that he is known only by an assigned number. The drama also stars Lee Jae Wook as Baek Kyung, the longtime object of Eun Dan Oh’s unrequited love, and Lee Tae Ri as Jin Mi Chae, a mysterious figure who ends up guiding Eun Dan Oh on her quest.

Finally, “Extraordinary You” will feature a group of handsome and popular students not unlike the legendary F4 of”Boys Over Flowers.” The so-called “A3″—punnily named after the paper size in reference to the fact that they are all comic book characters—will include Kim Young Dae and Jung Gun Joo.

3. The empowering idea of taking control of your own destiny

After discovering that she is living inside a manhwa, Eun Dan Oh refuses to accept her predetermined fate in the story and instead attempts to rewrite her own destiny by making her own decisions. Together with No. 13, who was only meant to be a nameless extra in the manhwa, Eun Dan Oh embarks on a dangerous quest to figure out the secrets of the fictional world they inhabit so that they can live their lives the way they want.

The producers of the drama teased, “With the unique subject matter of the world inside a manhwa as our foundation, we plan to make viewers’ hearts flutter through the refreshing chemistry of our distinctive characters.”
