Lee Young Ae Talks About Her Children Being Unaware Of Her Fame

Lee Young Ae talked about her children and her return to the big screen with “Bring Me Home”!

In an interview with The Korea Economic Daily, she shared, “In my 20s and 30s, I worked hard in acting and took on all kinds of diverse roles without missing out. In my late 30s, I thought, ‘What more can I expect?’ so I raised a family and worked hard as a mom and wife.”

Lee Young Ae married her husband Jung Ho Young in 2009, and she had fraternal twins Seung Bin and Seung Kwon in 2011. When asked if her children were aware of her celebrity status and fame, Lee Young Ae said, “I don’t think they don’t know very well yet. My son has little interest in the entertainment industry, but after the Blue Dragon Film Awards, my daughter asked me why I came back without Park So Dam’s autograph. So I told her, ‘Your mom is Lee Young Ae.'” Lee Young Ae attended the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards for the first time in 14 years on November 21.

“Bring Me Home” is a crime thriller about a woman named Jung Yeon (Lee Young Ae) who is contacted by someone that claims to have seen a boy who looks just like her son, who went missing six years before. This is Lee Young Ae’s first film role since she played the now iconic lead character Lee Geum Ja in “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance” in 2005.

The upcoming film is set to premiere on November 27.
