Kim Gun Mo's Agency To Take Legal Action Over Speculative Comments About His Wife

Kim Gun Mo’s agency has shared that they will be taking legal action against the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute after speculative comments were made about the singer’s wife.

Garo Sero Institute is a channel created by lawyer Kang Yong Suk, and both he and former reporter Kim Yong Ho regularly appear as hosts on the channel to talk about entertainment and political news. On December 6, the two hosts shared the story of a woman who stated she was sexually assaulted by Kim Gun Mo, and Kang Yong Suk filed a lawsuit on her behalf.

Another woman came forward to support the first woman’s claims by stating she was physically assaulted by the singer, and a third woman later accused him of sexual harassment. Kim Gun Mo has denied all the charges and is suing those accusers. Also, on January 19, a singer posted on social media to say that she had also been sexually harassed by Kim Gun Mo.

Amid the controversy, it’s reported that the Garo Sero Institute made unsubstantiated claims about Kim Gun Mo’s wife Jang Ji Yeon at a lecture held in Daegu on January 18.

It’s said that Kang Yong Suk, Kim Yong Ho, and journalist Kim Se Eui said they had heard that she’d had a “complicated” dating history before marrying Kim Gun Mo. They reportedly stated that she had lived with an actor. One of the hosts stated that the relationship had been famous, and they also said she had often boasted about dating the actor and gone to visit him while he was filming abroad. It’s reported that at the event with an audience of 1,000 people, they requested that their comments not be shared.

Kim Gun Mo’s agency has responded by saying that they are looking for a recording of the comments. They said, “We cannot accept that they have attacked the family while bringing up her unconfirmed relationships with men, which have nothing to do with their marriage.”

Kim Gun Mo and pianist Jang Ji Yeon registered their marriage in October, and they announced plans to hold a wedding ceremony in May.
