H&D Names 1st Place Promise + Shares How X1 Members Are Cheering On Their Debut As Duo

H&D (Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyon) celebrated their debut with a showcase!

On April 21, the duo made their official debut with the mini album “Soulmate” and its double title tracks “SOUL” and “Good Night.” During their showcase that day, they were asked to describe a first place promise.

Lee Han Gyul replied, “Because of the title ‘SOUL,’ if we come in first place then we’ll dance in Seoul Plaza, since the pronunciation is similar.” He added that because of the current situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic they’d have to substitute it with a video for now, but when the situation improves he wants to put on a proper dance performance in the plaza.

Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyon competed on “Produce X 101” as MBK Entertainment trainees in 2019 and debuted as members of the project group X1 that August. Following X1’s disbandment in January, they’ve now debuted as a duo.

The pair was asked at the showcase if they still stay in contact with their fellow former X1 members. Lee Han Gyul said, “We’re often in contact with each other, because we have a group chat room. They say they’re watching us and supporting us, and they say, ‘Let’s meet at the music shows.'” Nam Do Hyon said, “They also say we look cool. Hearing that gives me strength.”

Then MC then asked them to say something to X1’s fans. Lee Han Gyul said, “Although we’ve gone our separate ways, we’re all doing well at our own promotions, so please support us a lot. I hope you will remember each of us.”

Nam Do Hyon then said in Engilsh to overseas fans, “All of our members are all working hard and getting ready for their debuts and comebacks so I hope you appreciate all of us. We always stay in contact and we always greet each other, so I hope you know that too. I will always be thankful and I will never forget you guys. Thank you so much.”
