Lee Hyori Shares Her Intention To Step Away From Social Media

Lee Hyori has announced that she will no longer be active on social media.

On September 2, Lee Hyori shared the following post on Instagram.

Hello, everyone. After the next few days, I plan to stop using Instagram… It wasn’t because of anything that happened recently… (Although it’s not like it didn’t have an effect.) This was a space for me to communicate with my fans, who wanted to hear from me back when I wasn’t promoting much. But now I keep stressing about it and it’s not easy. I will try to think of a different way to communicate with my fans. Thank you for cheering me on and showing interest in me even though I was lacking in many ways. I am also thankful to the people who spoke bitter words to me. Let’s keep social distancing in our homes in these difficult times. I love you, thank you.

Lee Hyori launched her Instagram back in December 2016. In the past, she had a blog that she had planned to run for a year following her marriage, but due to various issues, she decided to shut it down.

On her new reality show for Kakao, “Face ID,” Lee Hyori talked honestly about social media. “I have over 1000 pictures of my dogs on my phone, but I’ve never used KakaoTalk,” she said. “I think that if you talk a lot in group chats, you can get into fights and it’s not good. I watch Netflix if [Lee Sang Soon] turns it on. I don’t know how to use technology without him. I only recently learned about TikTok. I didn’t even know Zico’s ‘Any Song’ challenge was on TikTok. I don’t understand how they get the music to play in those. My husband turned it on in the background and filmed me dancing.”

Lee Hyori recently made waves by joining Yoo Jae Suk and Rain as part of the project group SSAK3, and is currently active in the new project group Refund Expedition. She has also shared that she and Lee Sang Soon are trying to have a baby.
