The nominees for this year’s Best Korean Act at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards have also been announced!

The nominees this year are ASTRO, KARD, VICTON, EVERGLOW, and Stray Kids. Previous winners of the Best Korean Act title have included EXO in 2013, B.A.P in 2014 and 2016, BTS in 2015, GFRIEND in 2017, LOONA in 2018, and ATEEZ in 2019.

The 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) announced its nominees!

BTS has received five nominations this year, and BLACKPINK took three. Lady Gaga, who scored seven nods, is leading overall as the artist with the most nominations, and BTS and Justin Bieber are both runner-ups with five each.

BTS’s “Dynamite” is up for Best Song, alongside DaBaby’s “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch, Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now,” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me,” Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”

BTS is nominated for Best Pop, with fellow nominees including Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Little Mix.

The Biggest Fan award nominees include BTS, BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift.

BTS and BLACKPINK are nominated for the Best Group award, alongside 5 Seconds of Summer, Chloe x Halle, CNCO, and Little Mix.

BTS has also scored a nomination for Best Virtual Live, with the MTV EMAs describing the event as “Map of the Soul Concert Live Stream.” This may be referring to their upcoming “BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E” online concert, which takes place on October 10 and 11. Their fellow nominees are J Balvin, Katy Perry, Little Mix, Maluma, and Post Malone.

BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” scores a nod for Best Collaboration. Fellow nominees are Cardi B’s “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby’s “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch, Justin Bieber’s “Intentions” featuring Quavo, Karol G’s “Tusa” featuring Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me,” and Sam Smith and Demi Lovato’s “I’m Ready.”

Last year, BTS won the Best Group, Best Live, and Biggest Fans awards from the MTV EMAs. They also won Best Group and Biggest Fans in 2018, and they took the Best Korean Act award back in 2015.

The 2020 MTV EMAs will air globally on MTV on November 8. Voting is open until November 2 on the official website.
