Big Hit Labels, Gummy, Baek Ji Young, EXID's Solji, And More Cancel Plans For In-Person Concerts

Due to the rising wave of COVID-19 cases in South Korea, several artists have canceled their plans for in-person concerts at the end of the year.

On December 7, C-JeS Entertainment announced that Gummy, Noel, and EXID’s Solji had all canceled the concerts that had been scheduled to take place throughout the nation.

The Seoul concerts were canceled first as a result of the capital area raising social distancing restrictions to Level 2.5, which bans major events with more than 50 people. To comply with local restrictions in each region, the concerts that had been planned in Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, Seongnam, Jeonju, Changwon were also all canceled. Those who already purchased tickets for the concerts will receive refunds.

Baek Ji Young, who had also planned a national tour of concerts in Busan, Gwangju, Seoul, Seongnam, and Ilsan, has canceled her plans. Her agency stated, “The concerts were always going to be held according to strict guidelines about infection transmission and with firm social distancing restrictions in place, but as the community spread in the region increased, we decided it would be safest to cancel the concert.”

Kim Na Young, who had planned to hold a concert on December 25 and 26, will also cancel her plans in light of increased social distancing restrictions.

Big Hit Labels’ New Year’s Eve concert, which was originally intended to be both an online and offline event, will now be held entirely online.

Trot artist Na Hoon Ah, Lee Seung Chul, and Ailee have also canceled their concert plans for the end of the year.
