Watch: Rain, Kim Bum, Uee, And Apink's Son Naeun Introduce Their "Ghost Doctor" Characters

The cast of “Ghost Doctor” has shared insight into their characters in a new making-of clip!

tvN’s “Ghost Doctor” is a fantasy medical drama helmed by “Heirs” director Boo Sung Chul about two doctors who could not be more different in terms of their backgrounds, skills, or personalities, but who end up combining bodies and spirits.

Rain will star as genius thoracic surgeon Cha Young Min, while Kim Bum will play silver-spoon resident Go Seung Tak. Apink’s Son Naeun will play emergency room intern Oh Soo Jung and Uee will play neurosurgeon Jang Se Jin, who happens to be Cha Young Min’s ex-girlfriend.

The new behind-the-scenes video takes viewers onto the set of the drama’s teaser and poster shoot. After the four leads each introduce themselves, Rain shares, “The character of Cha Young Min is a genius doctor who is the best at his hospital and the best in Korea. I’m playing the role of someone who protects patients and defends justice.”

Kim Bum shares, “The role of Go Seung Tak is a doctor who hovers around the operating table and doesn’t seem like a doctor at all.” While posing for his adorable posters, Kim Bum comments, “I can’t believe I’m doing this.” As all the crew members start to giggle, he asks, “Was this a set with this much laughter?”

He continues, “After meeting doctor Cha Young Min, his values begin to change, and he gradually grows closer to the operating table.”

Regarding her character Jang Se Jin, Uee comments, “I’m a neurosurgeon who is Cha Young Min’s first love? Last love?” She also explains her poster, saying, “I filmed the scene where I posed like I was praying to save Young Min. I’m looking forward to it because I think it’ll come out bright and cute.”

Son Naeun remarks, “Soo Jung is an ambitious emergency room intern who believes in fantasy despite being a doctor.” In the middle of her poster shoot, Son Naeun walks over to check out her photos and adorably laughs, “I’m swollen!”

She continues, “We’re shooting [the posters] with concepts that emphasize each character’s charm well, and I think they’ll come out pretty, so please look forward to them lots!”

Both Rain and Son Naeun pick the genre of fantasy medical drama as the key point of “Ghost Doctor.” Rain adds, “There are some aspects of fantasy and a bit of thriller. Since it captures all that joy and sorrow, I think everyone will be able to enjoy watching it.” Kim Bum continues, “It deals with the human and relatable stories of people and their lives.”

Uee picks the chemistry between Cha Young Min and Go Seung Tak as the drama’s key point, and the clip jumps to Kim Bum dragging Rain into the operating room for their teaser shoot. After a few takes, the two express satisfaction with the result and their teamwork.

Finally, the cast wishes viewers a happy new year and asks them to look forward to starting 2022 with “Ghost Doctor.”
