Former APRIL Member Chaekyung To Part Ways With DSP Media

Former APRIL member Chaekyung has parted ways with DSP Media.

On April 22, DSP Media released an official statement announcing that Chaekyung’s contract had ended. Read their statement below:

Hello. This is DSP Media.

We’ve been discussing the future promotions of our agency artist Yoon Chaekyung with her. After a long discussion, we’ve decided to respect Yoon Chaekyung’s wishes to start anew in a new place and as of April 20, 2022, her official contract has ended.

We want to convey our thankful heart to Yoon Chaekyung, who has been active in various fields for a long time, as well to the fans who have cherished Yoon Chaekyung. Please continue to give lots of support and attention to Yoon Chaekyung as she stands at the start of a new beginning.

Chaekyung first debuted in Japan with the group Puretty, then was introduced as a DSP Media trainee on MBC’s “Baby Kara Project” and Mnet’s “Produce 101.” Following “Produce 101,” Chaekyung promoted in project groups C.I.V.A and I.B.I before joining APRIL in November 2016. In January, DSP Media officially announced APRIL’s disbandment. Former member Yena also left the agency earlier this month.
