SBS’s “Why Her?” and tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls” continue to lead a close battle for weekend drama ratings!

On July 2, “Why Her?” stayed strong with an average nationwide rating of 7.4 percent for its latest episode. Despite seeing a decrease in viewership from its previous episode the night prior, the mystery romance drama still remained the most-watched show in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average rating of 2.7 percent.

MBC’s “Doctor Lawyer,” which airs in the same time slot as “Why Her?”, held relatively steady with an average nationwide rating of 6.2 percent for the night.

tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls” also remained first place in its time slot across all cable channels despite seeing a drop in viewership. The new fantasy romance drama scored an average nationwide rating of 5.4 percent for its fifth episode—and it also took first place in its time slot among viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned a nationwide average of 2.9 percent.

TV Chosun’s new drama “Becoming Witch” (also known as “The Witch Is Alive”) dipped to an average nationwide rating of 2.7 percent for its second episode, while JTBC’s “Cleaning Up” trailed with an average rating of 2.1 percent.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s “It’s Beautiful Now” defended its title as the most-watched program of Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 20.5 percent.
