BLACKPINK's Lisa Achieves 3 New Guinness World Records Titles

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has officially broken three Guinness World Records!

On January 24, Guinness World Records confirmed that BLACKPINK’s Lisa had achieved three additional record titles as a solo artist.

When Lisa made her solo debut with “LALISA” in September 2021, she officially broke the record for most YouTube music video views by a solo artist in 24 hours after achieving an impressive 73.6 million views. Her new Guinness World Records titles include first solo K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for Best K-pop video and first solo K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) for Best K-Pop.

Additionally at the 2022 EMAs, BLACKPINK won Best Metaverse Performance with “Ready for Love,” earning a group Guinness World Records title as the first winners of this category.

Lisa’s third new title is for most Instagram followers for a K-pop artist. As of January 19, 2023, Lisa had 86.3 million followers, and the count has gone up to 87 million as of January 26 KST, which makes her Instagram account the 38th most-followed on the platform.

As of January 2023, BLACKPINK holds three Guinness World Records titles as a group, including most subscribers for a band on YouTube, first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart (Female), and first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the U.S. Albums Chart (Female).

Earlier this week, Lisa earned a solo Premio Lo Nuestro nomination for “SG,” her collaboration with DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna. In early January, BLACKPINK became the first female K-pop act to receive a BRITs nomination with a nod for Best International Group. This summer, BLACKPINK is set to become the first K-pop artist ever to headline famous U.S. music festival Coachella.

Congratulations to Lisa on her new Guinness World Records titles!
