Watch: Main Vocalist Of Girl Group Whose Song Went Belatedly Viral Shows Off Her Vocals On "The King Of Mask Singer"

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identity of “Unscalable Wall” was revealed!

During the January 29 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants continued their quest to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.

In the first match-up of Round 2, Unscalable Wall charmed the audience with her beautiful vocal tone as she performed a cover of BoA‘s 2012 hit “Only One.”

After watching her performance, INFINITE’s Sungjong declared that he had figured out Unscalable Wall’s identity, hinting that she was an idol group member who had a connection to HYNN. He went on to praise her emotional rendition of “Only One,” saying he’d never known the song could sound so sad. Other panelists also complimented Unscalable Wall’s clear and gorgeous tone, as well as her flawless vocal technique.

Although she impressed the crowd with her singing, Unscalable Wall ultimately lost the round to her opponent with 42 votes to his 57, and so she remained behind on stage to take off her mask and reveal her identity.

Sure enough, just as Sungjong had guessed, she turned out to be an idol with a connection to HYNN: Unscalable Wall was none other than LABOUM’s main vocalist Soyeon, who is a member of the popular “How Do You Play?” project group WSG Wannabe (Gaya-G) alongside HYNN.

Many also know Soyeon as the voice behind LABOUM’s viral hit “Journey to Atlantis,” which shot back up to the top of the Korean music charts in 2021—five years after its release in 2016.

Describing her goals for the year ahead, Soyeon shared, “To commemorate the fact that this will be the 10th year of my career, I’d like to release a solo album, and I’d also like to reach many people with my voice through OSTs.”
