Choi Min Sik And Son Suk Ku Talk About Working On The Set Of “Big Bet” Season 2
Choi Min Sik and Son Suk Ku have dished on “Big Bet” Season 2!
The first season of “Big Bet” told the story of Cha Mu Sik (Choi Min Sik), a man who rose to the top and became the legendary king of the casino in the Philippines even without any previous fortune, connections, or other special privileges. After getting tangled in a murder case, he became faced with the ultimate bet with his life on the line.
Choi Min Sik, who returned to the small screen for the first time in 25 years, shared his feelings about filming the series, saying, “For films, you have to condense the story into two hours, but the advantage of a series is that you can tell the story longer. It can show a character’s narrative in great detail. I am satisfied to be able to tell all the stories I wanted to tell.”
The actor also expressed his gratitude for attention from global fans as well as the foreign media, saying, “It is fun to be able to communicate with people all over the world through OTT (over-the-top) platforms. I am really happy that Korean dramas are enjoyed by audiences around the world.”
Choi Min Sik shared the distinguishing point of the new season of “Big Bet,” saying, “Centering around Cha Mu Sik, the narratives and conflicts of the characters will get even more dense. All conflicts, collisions, anger, and misery are caused by Cha Mu Sik, and his true nature will be unveiled in more detail.”
Son Suk Ku also revealed that he was attracted to his character Oh Seung Hoon, the first “Korean Desk” dispatched to the Philippines. The actor remarked, “[The ‘Big Bet’ series] is very different from the projects I have done so far. It seemed like it would be fun to act in English instead of my mother tongue (Korean) after a while.”
Consisting a total of eight episodes, Season 2 of “Big Bet” airs every Wednesday at 5 p.m. KST.
