Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - April Week 1

Two top male vocalists battled for No. 1 this week, with K.Will’s “Heart Is Beating” narrowly edging out Wheesung’s “Story Of A Cold Heart” by just two points to win the top spot of the week. K.Will, who debuted back in 2007, come close to hitting No. 1 on our chart several times in the past. Congratulations to him for finally getting to the top of the chart.
Songwriter Kim Do Hoon should be proud of himself this week, as he wrote and co-wrote both the No. 1 and No. 2 songs. In addition he is also behind CN Blue’s “Intuition”, using the pen name SEI. “Intuition” is this weeks highest debut song at #7 and is the title song from the first full length album by popular pop/rock group CN Blue. Their first two hits both reached No. 1 on our charts, while the song “Love” was also our song of the year for last year. “Intuition” should be a serious challenger for the top spot next week.
Two other songs made big 22-spot jumps into the top 10 this week. At No. 9 is fast rising boy band Infinite’s “Nothing’s Over”, from their single album “Inspirit”. This is the group’s first top 10 hit. Female group Girl’s Day also have their first top 10 hit “Twinkle Twinkle”, a reinterpretation of Nami’s “Spinning” which was popular in the 80’s music scene. The group’s past songs were not ranked high on the chart. This is definitely their breakthrough hit as “Twinkle Twinkle” is ranked high on most chart sources in Korea.
