Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - November Week 3
SNSD repeats again as No. 1 for the third consecutive week with “The Boys.” Despite both songs dropping in points, they further widened the victory margin over Secret‘s “Love Move” to over 100 points. “The Boys” have been conquering most music charts in Korea for the past few weeks. It will face some serious challengers if it wants to remain on top next week.
Secret’s “Love Move” is a hard luck No. 2 song. If not because they released the same week as SNSD, Secret would have scored their third chart topping hit of the year. Still, with two No. 1 songs and a No. 2 song this year, it looks like Secret is the favorite now for our top girl group of the year.
Breaking up the lady dominance in the top three, Lee Seung Ki moves up two spots to No. 3 with “We’re Friends“. Certainly this song is not yet satisfied with only No. 3 and is still looking to move up next week. It is very likely this song is closer to No. 1 next week as it is still gaining points.
There are four new songs this week. At No. 5, frequent collaborators 4men and Mi moves up nine spots with their breath taking version of “That Man, That Woman.” 4men and Mi has dueted in several occasions and this time it is a ballad number that begins with a sad waltz. The song’s realistic lyrics and the singers’ emotional vocals make this song worth a listen. This song title is the same as Vibe and Jang Hye Jin‘s 2006 duet, but is of different melody. The only link is that Vibe’s Yoon Min Soo produces this new version of “That Man, That Woman”.
At No. 6, Tablo switched to a new song this week. “Tomorrow” is an all-star collaborations between him and Big Bang’s Taeyang, who lends his vocal to this song. It is very refreshing song for both artists as it is very different from the music of their respective groups Epik High and Big Bang.
The new song with the most potential is at No. 7. The Wonder Girls are back with their new song “Be My Baby.” Debuting back in 2007 as a teenage group, they have transformed themselves into international stars and are more matured than ever. Wonder Girls started the retro concept years ago but now they are ready to move on to a whole new level with “Be My Baby”. Don’t be surprised if this song jump all the way to No. 1 next week.
The last new song in the top 10 this week belongs to Brown Eyed Girls, as their follow up single “Cleansing Cream” finally appears on the chart at No. 9. This ballad track is the first ballad Brown Eyed Girls promote in four years. Brown Eyed Girls debuted as a ballad group but successfully switched to up-tempo songs since the beginning of 2008. Now the girls are back to showcase their original ballad root with this sad number that features a much discussed MV. Fans of Ga In will be happy on this song as her vocal is featured extensively.

BONUS TRACK:
JJ (feat. Mighty Mouth) – 바본가봐 Part 2 (Must Be A Fool Part 2)
Genre: Pop Ballad
Album: JJ digital single “This Is Me”
Listen To: Full Song
Comment: JJ has returned with “Must Be a Fool Part 2”. Composed by Yang Jung Seung, the song was originally meant for Ivy to follow up on her hit single, “Must Be a Fool”. However, because her comeback was delayed, the song was given to JJ instead. The song is a ballad number and Mighty Mouth’s sentimental rap further perfects this number. The piano melody brings out the gloomy theme of this song. (credits to motoway065 for translations)
