Box office hit “The Thieves” has marked a new milestone. According to reports in local news agencies, records from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) showed the film  already hitting 11.9 million admissions, becoming the third highest grossing Korean movies of all time.

“The Thieves” surpassed 2004’s “Taekukgi,” a war drama starring Jang Dong Gun and Won Bin, which posted a record of 11.74 million admissions. “The Thieves” now ranks behind 2006’s “The Host” and 2005’s “The King and the Clown.”

With its steady growth, the star-studded caper film headlined by Jeon Ji Hyun, Lee Jung Jae, Kim Hye Soo, Kim Soo Hyun and other A-list actors is expected to carry on to its fifth week in movie theaters.
