Mark Your Calendar! Upcoming July Comebacks: JYJ's Junsu, Ailee, John Park, and More!

It’s been a crazy few months in K-Pop recently, hasn’t it? We’ve had an onslaught of high profile comebacks ranging from Lee Hyori, Shinhwa, and 2PM in May, to solo debuts of CL and Henry in June. MBLAQ, After SchoolSISTAR, and Led Apple have returned to the music scene with new albums in the same month, and with just around ten days left to June, the tidal wave of comebacks isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Roy Kim (June 25), Girl’s Day (June 24), Dal Shabet (June 20), Verbal Jint (June 24), Ulala Session (June 27), YB (June 25), Sweet Sorrow (June 27), and B.A.P (June 28) will all be releasing new tracks in the remaining days of June.

The competition on music shows for first place has been tight with wins by EXO, Lee Hyori, Shinhwa, BEAST, CL, Cho Yong Pil, PSY, and 4minute winning across the three main music shows in May and June so far on SBS, KBS, and MBC, with no one artist dominating long term. The music scene has been a mixed bag recently with solos, idols, veterans, rookies, males, and females all topping charts.

The heat promises to remain high for the summer month of July with more comebacks slowly being announced. John Park will be releasing his first full-length album on July 3, sixteen months after his first EP, “Knock.” The new album is titled “Inner Child,” contains eleven tracks, and is produced by John Park himself.  Five of the eleven tracks is also written and composed by John Park, making him a certified singer-songwriter.

Ailee will also be making a return mid-July with a dance song that highlights her powerful voice and showcases her upgraded dancing skills. It has been nine months since her last release.

JYJ’s Junsu had already announced his return previously in early June. He will be releasing his second solo album that, his agency stated, “will be balanced with ballad and performance-focused songs that highlight Junsu’s vocal and dance skills.”

BEAST will also be coming back in July with a new album, and the first performance for that album will be at BEAST’s solo concert being held in the same month. The group has already released the title song of the album, “I’m Sorry,” of which you can view the music video here.

YG Entertainment is trying a unique promotion strategy for 2NE1 by releasing a new track every month until October instead of as a whole album. The first track, “Falling in Love,” will be released in July.

Dynamic Duo will be bringing their smooth rap skills back to the music scene in the seventh month of the year with the group’s seventh full-length album.

Also, various media sources, (1), (2), and (3), are reporting the return of Infinite, A Pink, AoA, Kara, and either T-ara or 5Dolls will be making a comeback. They are also reporting the high probability of an f(x) comeback, which is long overdue for fans of the group.

Whoo! That was a lot of names to keep track of! Soompiers, which artists are you most excited for their comebacks? Did we miss any? Leave a comment below!
