The results are in.
YG Entertainment‘s reality survival show “WIN: Who Is Next?” through which the agency’s next boy group to debut will be decided, has finally reach the battle stages. The first battle between Team A and Team B was aired this past Friday, in which the judges, composed of Big Bang, 2NE1, and Yang Hyun Suk, picked Team B in a 4:2 decision. However, the debut decision rests on the public voting, with the winning team being decided through the total number of public votes at the end of the three battles. The winner of the first battle has been announced after a three day voting period, and Team A takes the title.
Team A took 51.37% of the votes, beating Team B by 2.74%. Team B took 48.63% of the votes. It seems Team A has an advantage with Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon‘s name recognition, as they hail from “Superstar K” and “K-Pop Star,” respectively.
Team A is composed of Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, and Kang Seung Yoon, averaging 20 years of age. Team B is composed of B.I, Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Go Jun Hwae, and Kim Dong Hyuk, averaging 17 years of age.
Also, according to Nielsen Korea, the viewers of “WIN” are predominately females in their 20s, with 20s males and 40s females making up the next largest demographic.
Here is the full episode of the first battle. It officially starts at the 15:00 minute mark. This battle was particularly interesting as it was also a competition between Taeyang and G-Dragon, who mentored Team A and Team B, respectively. Which team did you choose?
